Customer Support - Develpoment

Asked by

I am just wondering if at some point you will just drop development for Spot Documents like you have done with Leap, Yep, Fresh and Deep. There are lots of paying customers back at your old website that are up in arms that you have not given any signs of life.

I am sure that any Spot Documents users would hate to be left in the same position.

What a bunch of BS, Tom. I can’t believe that you’re the same Tom Andersen with whom I exchanged many emails back when you were starting Ironic. You were so thoughtful, gracious with your responses, and eager to receive user feedback. Today you just IGNORE your users and act as though communicating with people who are SUPPORTING YOU FINANCIALLY is somehow beneath you. I have lost ALL respect for you!!! Ironic is a disaster.

Can you answer these simple Yes/No questions???

Are you and Ted still actively involved with Ironic?

Are you and Ted still actively developing Ironic applications?

Will we see new versions of Ironic software that actually deliver new features and bug fixes? And, no, I’m not talking about Leap3 and Yep3, which seem to be repackaged version 2s with Mac App Store compatibility. Totally sleazy of you to try to get your users to pay for the same apps twice. SLEAZY.

Why do you feel that communicating with your users is a bad thing? Why do you feel that it’s ok to completely drop and ignore your old user base while Jim runs the company into the ground?

I’d NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER buy another piece of software that has your or Ted’s name on it. You guys are the two most inconsiderate and disrespectful developers I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering. You have no idea how a business works. You have no idea how to treat customers. You’re an insult to independent software developers.

Ironic Software is not dropping support or development for Yep, Leap, Fresh or Deep. The products work pretty well, even on Lion, but ironic is planning an update of most of them this fall to address a few glitches.

As for Spot Documents: We are growing our user base and adding features and updates on a fairly regular basis. With Spot Documents all files are stored in your own S3 account, and thus enjoy the security and peace of mind that comes with hosting storage with a large stable provider.
